Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 2026

At The Wee ADHD Tartan Co., accessibility is not an afterthought. It is part of who we are. We exist to celebrate neurosparkly minds, and that means making sure everyone in our community can access our website without barriers, frustration, or confusion.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These are the internationally recognised standards for web accessibility, covering visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor accessibility needs.

We know we are a new and growing website, and we are committed to improving continuously.

Designed with neurodivergent minds in mind

Beyond the technical standards, we have made deliberate design choices to reduce cognitive load and make the experience as calm and clear as possible:

  • High contrast colours to support visual clarity

  • Clear, readable fonts with consistent sizing

  • Simple, predictable navigation so you always know where you are

  • Plain English throughout, with no unnecessary jargon

  • A calm layout designed to avoid sensory overwhelm

We are a community built around neurodiversity, and that shows in every design decision we make.

Assistive technology

This website is built to be compatible with screen readers and keyboard navigation. If you use assistive technology and experience any difficulties, please let us know so we can look into it.

Known limitations

As a new website, we are still developing some areas. Current known limitations include:

  • Some product mock-up images may not yet have full alternative text descriptions. We are working through these and adding them as the site grows.

  • Video content may not yet have captions. We are committed to adding these as our content develops.

We would rather be honest about what is still in progress than pretend everything is perfect.

Hit a barrier?

If any part of this website is difficult to use, please tell us. We genuinely want to know and we will do our best to help or find a solution quickly.

Get in touch via our Contact page and include as much detail as you can about what you were trying to do and where you got stuck. We will always respond personally.

Ongoing commitment

We review this statement regularly and update it as the website develops. Accessibility is not a box to tick. For us, it is a promise to our community.

Managing the Mist

Every message is received with genuine care but the pace here is steady rather than fast. Please expect a reply within 72 hours. If things are particularly busy or the fog is thick it might take up to a week to see a response.

Healthy boundaries help the volunteer team stay sustainable so checking the inbox every ten minutes is not required. For those who find forms overwhelming a direct email or social media message is a great alternative. Voice notes on Instagram are also a brilliant way to communicate if typing feels like a chore today.

As a Community Interest Company every enquiry helps support the mission of advocating for the neurodivergent community.
